And the Bat flew over the Moon (CCMC172)

Sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Yeah! They have such great sketches! I decided to celebrate Halloween this week with a fun card using a Big Shot die to make a fun bat:

 

Fun isn’t it? We’ll get to the bat in a second, first, let’s talk about the card.

 

I used Basic Gray as the base and stamped the splatter image from Extreme Elements in behind where the moon was going to sit. I lined the bottom with some Cajun Craze on which I stamped the Halloween sentiment from Delightful Dozen and then added some Basic Rhinestones.

 

On an angle, I added a piece of Baja Breeze which is stamped with the stars from Extreme Elements and roughed up and sponged. I added a bit of Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon and a fun button with a Glimmer Brad centre. These colours, a combo I got from my Colour Coach, also felt like earth/air colours so if you stay with me here, I thought the gray and Baja were like the sky, the ribbon like the grass and the Cajun Craze like the earth.

 

For the moon I used some Watercolour paper and then sponged Basic Gray on one side. I liked the look of this paper with it’s crater-like properties. And then the bat – this is in Basic Black and spritzed with Shimmer Mist paint and alcohol.

 

So what did I use for this bat? Well my Beautiful Butterflies Die of course! I cut one out of Basic Black and cut it out as follows. You’ll see from the photo below exactly where the bat came from:

 

 

Pretty much self explanatory I think but the head, you’ll notice, is one of the bottom parts of the wing you’ve cut out.
