It seems as though I’ve been away a lot lately (although it’s only been a few days since I posted). Working full time has really taken a bite out of my blogging time and my hubby has been away a lot these past couple of weeks so by the time the kids are in bed, I’m beat! But, luckily I’ve got a few great little projects stored up to share….
This is a project that was used as a make and take at a few recent workshops. I just thought it was SO cute (if I do say so myself). I used the super cute new long cello bags and put two pencils in them – fit perfectly.
The top is made using the Two Big Tags die (I used a strip of 5 1/2″ x 2″ More Mustard Cardstock) and it is stamped with the A to Z stamp. I looped some 3/8″ Twill through the hole and closed it up with a More Mustard brad.
The little owl is made using Early Espresso, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze cardstock. Most of the pieces were punched out of cardstock that has Sizzix Multipurpose Adhesive sheets adhered to the back. With such small pieces, it just makes this owl that much easier to put together.
We then added a branch and leaves from the 2-Step bird punch (Pear Pizzazz cardstock) and voila!
Another idea I had with these cello bags was to make a holiday wreath:
I added Christmas coloured candies inside the cello bag and then adhered together in a circular fashion. I then tied on some Whisper White Organza and made a little bit of holly (using my large oval punch with 1/2″ circle cut outs) and berries. The little tag is from Tiny Tags punched out with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch.
