Today is the birthday of a very special lady, Lesley Croghan! In honour of this special day, a bunch of her blog friends have organized a special birthday themed hop, so let’s get to it! If you’re already on the “hop”, I hope you enjoyed Anne Marie’s card on the blog you just arrived from. And here is mine:
I wanted to use some of the great new In Colours for my card and also use a set a little differently. So, I grabbed my Make-A-Monster set and got to work.
The base is Island Indigo and is layered with Island Indigo designer paper. I added a vertical strip of Pool Party and layered on it with Confetti White.
The little girl monster is stamped on the Confetti White base and the arms and lets are coloured in. I then paper pieced the body and made a little skirt using my Pinking Hearts border punch. Once I did that I had a big ah ha moment!
The waste from punching with the Pinking Hearts border punch looks just like a miniature pennant border! So I punched a bunch and “hung” them in celebration of this special birthday!
So now I’m going to send you along on the hop to the next blog – Cindy Beach at Stamps, Paper and Ink. Also, please take a quick stop over to Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper, and leave her a big birthday wish!

Carrie, love the ah ah moment….. Making use of the leftovers from the punch was a fabulous idea! Of course, I was not surprised to see the “fascinator” on the monster’s head – and, it was blinged up, too! Another fabulous card. I know Lesley will love it

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and
visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a great job with this.
Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Chrome. Exceptional
Blog!
