Fantastic Fascinator #4

Thanks for coming back to see the last of my fascinators. This one is brought to you by the letter “O” for original. This one is pure me. I enjoyed making and wearing this one the best! When did I wear it? I know there are photos of me in this one, I posed for A LOT (and a thank you to my roomies for still hanging out with me while the pics were being taken!).

The large scallop circle #2 die was used for the base and then I used First Edition designer paper for the large circles and added some butterflies for a little extra something.

So when did I wear this one? Betcha you can figure it out…..leave me a comment – there is a prize in it for you! I’ll post all four day’s winners tomorrow!

Thank you all for your continued well wishes and comments – hearing from you all is what keeps me blogging!

A Fancy Fascinator – Frenzy Day #3

Today’s fascinator is brought to you by the letter “F” for faaannncyy! This one was such fun to make and really quite simple. All you do is take various sizes of scallop circles, spritz them with water and roll them. Then I used large clothes pins to keep them together while they dried. I added them all together with some 1 1/4″ Certainly Celery striped grosgrain with my hot glue gun.

So when did I wear this one at Convention? Do you remember? Leave a comment mentioning when I wore this and a prize may be coming your way! Remember, I’m keeping all comments hidden until after tomorrow’s post.

And don’t forget, there are only 2 days left to join Stampin’ Up! and my team for only $119! Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to join a wonderful company, share your creative spirit and meet some wonderful people.

All this and a beautiful Christmas keepsake box to boot! Head on over to my website to learn more.

Inkspiration for Fascination and a Fancy Card Swap Hop to Boot!

This is a MEGA POST! Yes, you read it right. This is a BIG one. The post actually contains THREE different entries – hope you’ll stay with me to the end. If you do, here is what you’ll find:

  1. Inkspirations Challenge #80
  2. Fascinator Frenzy #2
  3. Fancy Card Swap Blog Hop

Oh, I know, a lot to put into one post but I think I’m long winded enough to do it!

This week’s Inkspirations Challenge is a colour one. I was totally thrown. Not sure why but purple is not my friend. So I decided to use it very sparingly as a layer but to focus on the other two colours.

I kept the base simple and just used Whisper White with a large Pear Pizzazz layer and then added a loop of Peach Parfait ribbon.

The central panel is layered with Concord Crush and then Whisper White and sponged with a cloud effect. Next, I used the Buttons embosslit and cut out a ton of Pear Pizzazz buttons and fashioned them into a tree. I found that if I cut a large triangular tree shape and then adhered the buttons to it, that made it much easier to do. A little bird was added on also.

A little tag with a sentiment from Just Believe finishes it all off. Now it’s your turn to head on over to Inkspirations and play along! But first, check out what the rest of the design team came up with:

Today’s FASCINATOR is brought to you by the letter “C” for “charming”:

This is a low profile beauty! Made with Springtime Vintage fabric, I actually forgot that I was wearing it. I made many little rosettes of various sizes and affixed them to a circle of cardstock below and then clipped it. When did I wear this one? It was pretty small so maybe a little sneaky……

By adding a comment below you’ll be eligible for a sweet little prize – not a Convention attendee? No problem! Make your own fascinator and link it in today’s post and you’ll be eligible too!

And now for the Fancy Card Swap Hop! At Convention I participated in a swap of Fancy Cards hosted by Elizabeth Price and Julie Beltramo.  Hopefully you’ve just arrived here from Gilda Fellows’ blog and after you take a look at my card, I’ll send you along to the next blog-hopper! Here is my card:

Christmas in brown and pink? YOU BET! I used the new stamp set Snow Much Fun and played around to make a vintage inspired card out of a typically not vintage type stamp. I even decorated the inside, but forgot to take a photo! Here is a close up of some of the details:

Well if you’ve made it all the way down to here, you deserve a big ol’ pat on the back! Better than that maybe? Head on over to the spectacular blog of Elizabeth Price and enjoy yet another Fancy Card Swap!

Wishing for Fascinator Frenzy to start – today’s the day!

Today I’ve got a double post for you! First is the latest sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary. I was so very lucky to meet Connie, Mary and Lisa from the current design team at Convention and they are certainly a big ol’ hoot! We had a great dinner and kick off party together and although I’m saying goodbye to the design team over the summer, I’ll be back in October! Here is this week’s sketch:

I used Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Whisper White on today’s creation. The numbered designer paper is from Just Eat Cake and the vertical designer paper is from the Neutrals designer paper pack. I also added a Whisper White sponged scalloped circle to the mix for some extra fun.

For the cupcake, I embossed an image from on Create a Cupcake on Crumb Cake with clear embossing powder and punched it out with the Cupcake punch. To the top, I added some Multi Purpose adhesive sheet and then slathered it with Champagne Glass Glitter.

For good measure, I added a little pennant tag from Pennant Parade which was punched out with the Pennant Punch. The scalloped horizontal strip is actually Chocolate Chip Polka Dot Scalloped Grosgrain just flipped over to hide the polka dots!

I’d love to see what you can come up with using this sketch so head on over and play along at Create with Connie and Mary!

Now, for what I know some of you have been waiting for…….FASCINATOR FRENZY!

Today’s fascinator is brought to you by the letter A – for AWESOME!

So when did I wear this at Convention? Did you see me? Leave a comment and then contact me to let me know when you saw me – linking to a photo is even better! I am going to keep all comments hidden to keep you all from being sneaky (hey, I most likely would be). If you weren’t at Convention and want to play along, just create your own fascinator and link it in the comment section of my blog over the next four days.

And YES, there is most certainly a prize! The winner will have something very special sent their way as my thank you for contributing to this post.

A Chic Birthday

Like the soft look of the photo? Well, you can thank my son’s big ol’ thumbprint for that! I didn’t realize until I’d gotten into editing the photo and I was too tired to take it again!

This card is based on The Paper Players latest sketch and The Friday Mashup theme – two of my favourite challenges!

I’ve got to make this quick and I think most of this is self explanatory – I’ve got a few special Fascinator Frenzy posts to get working on!

The base is Basic Black and I’ve layered it with Cherry Cobbler and then Whisper White. The Whisper White layer is embossed with the Stripes embossing folder (LOVE). Then, I stamped a sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Basic Black and then just the happy birthday again in Cherry Cobbler.

The sentiment panel has some silver mini brads in each corner (yummy!). I added a looped bow of Heirloom fabric and a couple of folded circles with fun embellishment centres.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget that tomorrow is the start of Fascinator Frenzy!

Products used on today’s project:

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler.

Ink: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler.

Stamps: Delightful Dozen.

Accessories: Big Shot, Stripes embossing folder, Silver mini brads, Heirloom fabric, Antique Brads, Trinkets, Medium Jewelry Tag Punch.

A Tea Party: Non-Winning Artisan Award Project #4

I’m back from camping! WOW – 2 weeks away from home is just a little too long for me. I’ve got so many crafty things to do! While I’m busy creating new and wonderful things for you to see on my blog and to make at my Open House next week, I’ll keep you all entertained with some non-winning Artisan Award entries.

This is a 5 x 5 card of Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze. I used the Springtime Vintage designer paper and the stamp set, Morning Cup.

I ruffled some Eyelet Punched Very Vanilla cardstock and added a cute little teapot to the centre. Then, a little pocket behind the circle houses a tea bag that matches the tea party invitation.

Don’t forget about my Fascinator Frenzy blog candy starting on July 28th – I hope those of you at Convention had your eyes peeled. And for those of you who were not, get your crafty ideas ready to share! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Click here to find out more!

Hope you have a great day!

Let’s Sail Away – Inkspirations 79

It’s sketch challenge time at Inkspirations! I love sketches, you can interpret them in so many ways. Here is the sketch for this week:

I decided to use some great new products from our new catalogue – the Pennant Punch and  Just Add Cake designer paper.

The base for this card is Wild Wasabi and I added some extra texture by adding a bunch of 1 1/4″ circles of textured Wild Wasabi. I then made a panel of the designer paper layered with Early Espresso and then Baja Breeze.

You’ll notice a small strip of designer paper going horizontal across the card and I’ve added some Chocolate Chip Polka Dot Scallop Ribbon behind it.

For the focal panel, I used Peach Parfait, then Early Espresso and Whisper White.

I had the idea for this little boat as soon as I got my punch. First I sponged water using Baja Breeze and Marina Mist. Then, for the bottom of the boat I used a half of a 1 3/4″ circle in Early Espresso.  I made the porthole using the outside of a Clear Rhinestone brad. I took the centre bling out and then affixed it into the boat.

I punched out the designer paper for the sails and added them on with dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a sentiment from On Your Birthday and a little linen thread bow.

I hope you’ll find time to play along at Inkspirations this week! For a little more inspiration, check out what the rest of the design team has come up with:

Say Thank You with Flowers

Today is the unveiling of the newest challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week, they’ve got a great colour combo for you to play with:

I knew that I wanted to make this card somewhat simple and easy to replicate. I like to get an arsenol of make and take ready cards and this was my goal.

The base is Marina Mist and I’ve layered it with a sponged and distressed layer of Confetti White.

I then used my Big Shot for a Sahara Sand Top Note and cut off one end. I then stamped the large image from With All My Heart in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder once on each of the challenge colours. I then punched it out with the Fancy Flower punch.

If you wanted to show this at a workshop, you could omit the embossing for new stampers.

Various embellishments were added to the centre of each flower and a tie of 1 1/4″ Striped Marina Mist grosgrain (cut in half) was tied around. I used the sentiment from the Summer Mini hostess set, Swirls and Curls Verses.

Let’s see how you interpret this colour combo by heading over to Create with Connie and Mary and playing along!

Products used on today’s project:

Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Marina Mist, Regal Rose, Confetti White.

Ink: Versamark, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Marina Mist, Regal Rose.

Stamps: With all my Heart, Swirls and Curls Verses.

Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note, Fancy Flower punch, 2 Step Bird Punch,  1 1/4″ Striped Marina Mist grosgrain, Clear embossing powder, heat tool.

Good Bye Salt Lake & and Update on Fascinator Frenzy!

WOW – was I overwhelmed with the response to my fascinators at Convention. I thank each and every demonstrator who stopped and asked me about them or took a photo. You are all so very kind and I appreciated every single word, look and smile. Something you may not know about me is that I’m not comfortable being the centre of attention so I thank you for your patience as I stumbled through my thank yous and know that I so very much respect you all and am so glad that I continue to inspire you with my creations.

As I prepare to leave Salt Lake City, I am humbled by the group of women and men I belong to within my Stampin’ Up! Family. Each and every one of you are generous with your creativity and time and are so very much an inspiration to me.

After I have some time to digest all that I’ve learned over these past four days I will certainly post more information. I feel rich with creative information and with the theme being Grow, I do certainly feel that I’ve grown as a person just a wee bit but there are certainly more steps I can take to grow. I hope to share my journey with you all.

I am off for some well deserved family time (I think) on a super fun camping trip. Upon my return, I will be hosting my Fascinator Frenzy Blog Candy Contest so please make sure you have your photos of me ready (or leave a comment on which day I wore what). I will start posting on July 28th.

Again, I so look forward to another great year with Stampin’ Up! I hope if you’ve ever considered joining the Stampin’ Up! Family that you’ll certainly do so. It is a wonderful group to be a part of. Remember, you can join this month for only $119!  You can view all the information on what you can get in the kit here. But believe you me, there are so many intangibles to being a demonstrator that there is just not enough time to list them!

If you’re interested in learning more or joining my team, you can learn about how to do that by clicking here (and scroll down to the bottom).

Have a happy week everyone!

My Chariots and More Convention FUN!

One thing you need to know about Convention is that we walk A LOT! My poor little feet are gettin’ a little sore so I decided to wear my flip flops today. And, because these feet have been a very important contributor to my Convention experience, I thought I’d share a little photo of them with you!

But, that is not really what you want to see, is it?

Last night was Awards Night and it was such fun! To start the evening I was named an Artisan Award finalist (I think that means top 25). Then, Stampin’ Up! invited us all into the Ballroom for a dance party with desserts! It was such fun! Check out Stampin’ Up!’s Facebook page to see my in my “boogie mode”. Here are my roomies lounging on one of the couches:

We had a great time and we thank Stampin’ Up! so much for it! We are all coming home with amazing ideas and wonderful new products to share!

Today we were in classes and make and takes all day. Lots to see and do. Here are a few photos of the general session and break out classes.

Oh, and here is a photo of my general swaps! I hope that if you’ve received one that you are enjoying it and I thank you for swapping with me!
