WOW – this was hard! I kept looking at Kazan’s sketch at 2Sketches4You and thought I knew what I was going to do…I made a lot of “do overs” on this one. However, that said, I do like the final project.
I decided that I wanted to use a set that was retiring so I decided on Artfully Asian. I stamped the long blossom in Timber Brown StazOn on Very Vanilla card stock and coloured the flower in with Barely Banana and Apricot Appeal ink and the leaves with Sage Shadow. I sponged the edges with Apricot Appeal.
I took a square of Sage Shadow card stock and sponged the edges and distressed a bit and added a circle of Close to Cocoa layered with a punched out circle that had been stamped with “always” from Always. I used my Sage Shadow ink pad and Close to Cocoa marker to get the two tone effect and I added another little flower to the centre of the “a” with my 1/2″ circle punch. But now I couldn’t figure out what to put on the top left corner of the square as the sketch required.
So, I pulled out my hobby blade and cut out the blossoms enough so I could slide the Sage square underneath. I stamped an extra flower on another piece of cardstock and added it on so there are a few more flowers.
I used my ticket corner punch on the top two corners and adhered to a piece of Apricot Appeal to which I did the same corner treatment. I tied some Vanilla taffeta ribbon around the seam of these two pieces of cardstock and added them onto a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock. You can see in the top two corners that I wanted to add brads but as we don’t carry cocoa brads, I just used my Crop-A-Dile to make “faux brads”.
Lastly, I stamped a salutation from Heard from the Heart – from the upcoming catalogue – in Close to Cocoa.
I will most certainly miss this set but look forward to new great stuff. Thanks for a great challenge, Kazan!
