Workshop Olympics Event #4

Today’s project is another that I’m using for a Workshop Olympics event (and also for a scallop square punch class last night!). It is a quick and simple card that uses a few great techniques and an amazing stamp set from our Occasions Mini Catalogue, With all my Heart. Here is a closer look at a few details…..

With all my Workshop Olympics Event projects, I’m not going to say too much as I don’t want to ruin the surprise at the event itself but for those of you who have picked this card for your workshops, it is now time to send this link to your guests and time to get EXCITED!!!!

Workshop Olympics Event #3

Now I’m not going to say much about these projects as I’d rather do that in person at your Workshop Olympics in-home workshop. Above is a card that I’d demo (the above one) to show how you can quickly and simply make a hand stamped card. The second is a stepped up one with some great additional accessories and products!

I’ve still got a few workshop spaces open if you are ready to enter the “games”.

On that note, our family is just sitting here getting ready to watch the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. We are all so very excited to be a part of these games as they are happening in our hometown. We got to see the torch in our little city earlier this week (so cool but super early at 6:30am!). So, over the next couple of weeks you may see many posts of the cool things going on around here as we are just so thrilled. Maybe tomorrow I’ll put up a picture of our family in front of our house with our lit up Olympic rings and all our Canadian flags – we are proud to be Canadian, eh!

I find that the Olympics always pull at my heartstrings. I am constantly tearing up watching athletes who have trained so hard at this pinnacle of sport, even the commercials make me cry! I had to go to Costco to get kleenex in preparation…..

I am also very proud to be a volunteer at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games in March so they’ll be so much more to share then!

Workshop Olympics – Event #2

I wanted to focus on occasion cards that everyone can use for my Workshop Olympics and this card will fit that bill – we all know kids who have birthdays and love getting cards!

The particular card is quite easy but showcases watercolouring which is an awesome technique to show at a workshop as everyone wants to know how to colour in line images.

The base is Regal Rose and is layered with Chocolate Chip and then Whisper White cardstock. I love using up scraps and I had a bunch around after cutting for a class so I kept them and used them in behind my focal image. They are Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise. I ran them through my Big Shot with the new Perfect Polka Dots folder (Love this!) to give them a bit of pop.

On that I added a piece of Confetti white cardstock layered in chocolate Chip. I stamped the hippo from Pun Fun in Jet Black StazOn and watercoloured in using my aquapainter and coordinating ink colours. For a workshop, I’d most like use a blender pen and pastels but I’d have some done with various watercolouring methods nearby to show how different they all look.

I then added a little sentiment in Chocolate Chip from On Your Birthday.

Products used on this project – CLICK HERE to buy them NOW!

Cardstock: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Confetti White.

Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Sahara Sand.

Workshop Olympics Event #1

I’ve had many inquiries on participating in my Workshop Olympics – I think I may get my 10 participants!

Here is one of the “events” that workshop attendees can participate in at a workshop during this special time. It incorporates a ton of products I love – and I hope you do too!

The base of this card is Soft Suede and we’re using some Old Olive Designer Paper and the Good Neighbour and Whimsical Words exclusive Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. Now I don’t want to give too much away but here is a close up….
