Bright Bouquet – Inkspirations #69

With all the vintage and masculine type cards I’ve been making these days, I’m so excited to share a bright and fun and girly one! This colour combination came quite by happenstance but I’m really liking it! For this card I used Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

To start, I used the AWESOME Inkspirations Challenge Blog Sketch this week:

I knew I also wanted to use two sets that have been a little unused lately – Awash with Flowers and the Define Your Life and Defining Alphabet sets.

I think for the most part this card speaks for itself but I’ll touch on a couple of little fun details.

The Bitty Buttons on the top left – I first punched out two 1/2″ circles in the Pear Pizzazz layer and then added the little bit smaller buttons with a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock as a tie in the centre.

And the flowers. These are stamped on Watercolour paper using Jet Black StazOn and then I coloured them in. The bottom one is coloured with Melon Mambo and then over the entire layer with Pumpkin Pie – I love using two different colours, gives so much extra pizzazz! The other flower was first coloured with Concord Crush and then over with Melon Mambo.

Now let’s see what you can do with this super fun sketch! Head on over to Inkspirations and play along with us!

Or, just look at what the rest of the Design Team has come up with – you are sure to be inspired.

  1. Those flowers are show-stoppers Carrie! Love how you have coloured them. Cool trick with the bitty buttons too – gives them a whole new look. Awesome card. 🙂

  2. Lovely bright colours. Love the watercoloured flowers.

  3. OMG, I would never be brave enough for this color combination but you rocked it! Love how the buttons look colored and glossy–fabulous card!
