Today is the unveiling of a new Create with Connie and Mary challenge! This week it’s a sketch:
I started with a fairly simple colour combination of Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler but I wanted to incorporate a great technique, faux metal.
For this technique, all you do is emboss a piece of cardstock over and over and over again (this example uses a Basic Gray piece of cardstock embossed with silver embossing powder). After the last embossing, while it’s still hot, you press a stamp into the embossing powder (but make sure you pre-ink the stamp with Versamark). I used Artistic Etchings for this.
I finished this card off with some ribbon and a Vintage Brad on one side and on the other, a stamp from the Four Frames stamp set which was punched out with the Decorative Label punch.
Give this technique or sketch a try today! Head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and play along with our sketch challenge this week.
