Between cutting for Halloween and Christmas classes coming up this week I had a few minutes to play around. So I went to a few of my favourite challenge blogs and decided to do a combo challenge card.
First, I was inspired by the colours on ColourQ and the sketch on Clean and Simple. And, the last is a challenge from Pals Paper Arts to use bling on your project – I wanted to use some but not for it’s necessarily intended use.
The base of this card is River Rock and in following the ColourQ challenge, I made a layer of Basic Black with Poppy Parade and Tangerine Tango.
For the focal image, I stamped the little birdcage from Every Little Bit with Jet Black StazOn. I then punched it out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch. I watercoloured the little bird with coordinating colours but it just needed a little something extra. So, I stamped it again on a Window Sheet and cut it out. I used some Tombow to adhere and covered the top and then up to the top of that layer with the Black Flourish designer jewels.
I then added a sentiment from Smarty Pants to the bottom. The top of the sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla and hand cut and the bottom was stamped in Poppy Parade ink on the Poppy Parade layer.
This card was super fun, oh and it’s 4″ x4″, forgot to mention that!
Have a great day!
