My Favourite Artisan Project – at long last!

When completing my Artisan Award projects last year (wow, its almost time to start again!), this was my favourite. I had a completely different idea of what I was going to do when I started but was SO HAPPY with the end result. However, before I sent it, I didn’t take any photos. So,I was thrilled to find it on display at the SU’s Convention in August of this year. So, keep in mind, this is me going into an area I probably shouldn’t have to take photos (they may not be that great).

Here is the outside:

This is a fun “tween” wallet made out of fun foam. I used the fun foam as the base and covered it with Rockabilly DSP (using LOTS of sticky strip). It is kind of hard to explain but the brad “studs” in the ribbon are going all the way through to hold it all together on one side only. The other side has the brads going through the ribbon only and is sticky stripped down.

The big skull is from Just Jawing and is embossed in black on Shimmery White cardstock. I added a bow covered in chunky silver glitter and the eyes are cut out Pink Passion.

I cut a Top Note with my Sizzix Big Shot and cut it down and layered it for the top of the wallet. If you look up, you’ll see I used beads, pearls and ribbon from the Pretties Kit as the wallet chain. Now, for the inside:

You can see I used some velcro for the closure and added a large clip for some fake money. On top, I added a little mirror with a rub on. The mirror is backed on Basic Black and Pink Passion.

I double set the jumbo eyelets for the ring to clip into so it’d look clean on both sides.

This write up is extremely short for a project that took 5 hours! Please let me know if you’ve got any specific questions for me.

Have a great day!
