Sweet Daisy Mae

My dear friend had to make the painful decision to let her dear friend Daisy Mae to rest earlier this week after learning of a cancer diagnosis. Daisy was a beautiful black lab who was so sweet and friendly. It has been an emotional week but the family is starting to heal.

I wanted to make a card that was meaningful and, fortunately, I have not had to make a sympathy card in quite some time, let alone a sympathy card for a four legged friend.

The Mojo Monday Day 2 sketch of their week of challenges really called to me and I used it as my inspiration for this card.

The base is Going Gray and is layered with Basic Black and Nouveau Chic designer paper. I made a vertical panel of Basic Black and Sage Shadow. Both outside edges were run through the eyelet border punch and layered on top of each other.

The focal panel is Basic Black layered with Whisper White. I stamped the fire hydrant from Man’s Best Friend in Sage Shadow and stamped a saying from Thoughts & Prayers is stamped over it in Basic Black. The little bones are stamped from Twick or Tweet (Holiday Mini) and cut out.

A 1″ circle is punched out of the left side and some 5/8″ Basic Black grosgrain is threaded around and tied in a bow.

Thanks for stopping in. Hug a pet today.
