Hi Friend

I held a Super Sizzix Class last week and would love to share with you one of the projects!

This card was inspired by a colour combo I used for one of my brother’s birthday cards a while back – Taken with Teal, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black.

I wanted to show how you can use one of the alphabet dies (Serif in this case) to make a card.

I ran a strip of Basic Black cardstock through the Big Shot, long enough to get letters a through k. I then lined them up on a strip of white cardstock and paper pierced the top.

I mounted that on a strip of Kiwi Kiss cardstock and then added a circle around “hi”. I first punched a 1 3/8″ circle and then a 1 3/4″ circle around it.

The background piece is Taken with Teal. What I did to get the dark pattern is run my Basic Black ink pad all over the Friend Texture plate and then run it through my Sizzix Big Shot with the cardstock. So, not only is it embossed but darkened. I then sponged the corners and tied some black gingham ribbon around it and then onto the card base.

A really quick and simple card that showed my customers two amazing Sizzix products – alphabets and texture plates!
