Dinner Decor

I had my downline holiday party last night and thought I’d share a few of the little projects we did. And we did A LOT!

I had a table set up with a holiday table setting – probably the one I plan to use this holiday season. We first started with the votive candle holder.

The votive was made with two pieces of 5″ x 2 1/2″ pieces of cardstock vellum. We stamped images from Snow Swirled on them and embossed with Silver EP. We then added strips of Riding Hood Red cardstock and affixed on with silver brads. Then, we added some 5/8″ Old Olive grosgrain for good measure and slid them over the votive. They are really beautiful lit with the lights off!

Next, we moved to the napkin ring. This is just a Top Note die from the Sizzix Big Shot in Old Olive cardstock. We scored each side in 1″ and folded them around back (on the back we punched two holes with our Crop-A-Diles and tied in some ribbon). To fnish the front, we added a strip of Riding Hood Red cardstock and embossed the image from Cute and Curly in Silver EP on Brushed Silver cardstock and punched it out. We then used “joy” from Fundamental Phrases to finish it off.

For the name place card, we used a piece from the Country Living Holiday Stamping Kit. We adhered designer paper to the scallop square, inner square and outside piece of chipboard. We ran a hobby blade down the centre of the outer chipboard piece and folded it half. We then sanded (a lot) and slid the inside scallop square in place.

So where is the square from the centre? Well, look on the martini glass! We punched a hole through with our Crop-A-Dile and added some Silver Elastic Cord and some beads to make wine charms. Now all you have to do is write on the name of your guest and you are all set!

We made a few more things that I’ll share with you soon!

  4. Just beautiful & how nice of you to have a downline party. Love the votive idea! I bet that would be beautiful in the dark. Hmmm, I might have to think of some ideas on how to do that on a larger scale. Thanks for sharing your wonderful projects for your evening with your downline!
