One Wheel – Two Looks

I was playing with my Neighbourhood wheel the other day as I don’t use it as often as I should. I decided to come up with two distinct occasions – well, with Halloween and Christmas on the horizon I decided that these were the two occasions to go with!

My first creation was the Christmas one:

This card uses a Bordering Blue card base and an Always Artichoke layer. I wheeled the Neighbourhood wheel in basic black and watercoloured in with various colours. I added some snowflakes from Merry & Bright in and around the houses and also added some holiday lights using the lights from Mr. Twigster.

I added a torn and glittered piece of whisper white cardstock along the bottom and then some Riding Hood Red ribbon.

On top, I added a round tab punch and a silver star. I also added a bit of faux stitching with my white gel pen for good measure. And now, for the next one:

The card base is basic black and layered with Elegant Eggplant and Confetti white. On the Confetti white, I wheeled the Neighbourhood wheel and watercoloured with various colours. I grabbed my thin Sharpie and tried to make the birds into bats (not so great, but I tried!). And, I used the My Way (arrow) punch to make a fence. The pumpkins are from the Family Accessories and the saying is from All Holidays.

This was a fun personal challenge – to use a wheel and make it fit two different seasons. Give it a try!

  1. I just love it! I know someone who has that wheel, so I may have to relieve her of it…LOL I always enjoy looking at your work.

  2. Well I guess I need to add the wheel onto my list with these wonderful cards! You could make them for every season & personalize them with your house number or your recipients. Hmmmmm, now you have my creative wheels spinning! 🙂

I bought the “All in the Family” set to turn the Autumn Harvest pumpkins into our families personalized jack-o-lanterns! They turned out really cute! Even our two 4-legged boys (dogs) were included on the card.

Thanks for the inspiration as always!
