Fit for a Captain

I love Greg’s Challenges and this week’s was just perfect for me. I love watercolouring. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Not as good as I’d like to be at it, but I’m trying hard everyday to get better.

I also had a local demonstrator meeting and wanted to make a swap – nothing like leaving it to the last minute, huh?

I started out with a cardbase of Basic Gray, which I also love very much. I layered some Soft Sky designer prints paper on the bottom 2/3rd’s and layered over the “join” with some Pomegranate double stitched ribbon. One of my most favourite things right now is to stamp on ribbon so I stamped the salutation in Basic Black craft ink on the ribbon.

For the focal piece I chose the flowers from Fun & Fast Notes. This is such a cute set and I like it more and more each time I use it. I stamped the image on Confetti white in Jet Black StazOn. Using my aquapainter and various inks (basic gray, so saffron, pomegranate, old olive, soft sky) I watercoloured the image and shaded as well.

I have started to add a little bit of white gel pen in the darker areas for an extra highlight and you can see this on the left side of the pot and on the handle. Of course, no card would be the same without a little bling so I added some diamonds and mounted it on some Old Olive cardstock. I then added it to the card with dimensionals.

  1. what a great card really like how you turned the edges on the stamped image, looks like you changed your blog header photo, it is great.

  2. Such a pretty card. GREAT watercoloring
