For getting me out of my rut!
I’m one of the few “special” people who got to partake in Greg’s challenges (you can find him at Captain-Crafter) from the get-go. He is great, isn’t he?
I tried to follow the rules on this one (sometimes I stray a bit). I really wanted to do something with mainly neutrals. So I grabbed some Confetti White cardstock for my base, lots of black for lining and some Sahara Sand and River Rock. I wanted a little punch of colour so I grabbed a little piece of Groovy Guava left over from my last project.
Tip: to reduce the waste of paper, try to fit your layouts to what scraps you have. Sometimes you can come up with great creations!
Okay, back to the card. I wanted to use a new set, so I pulled out In the Spotlight (hostess level 2 set). I stamped the large flower in Sahara sand on Sahara Sand. I did the same tone-on-tone stamping with the Groovy Guava piece and both are mounted on black cardstock.
For the focal piece, I knew I wanted to stamp the focal image a little off the page. But this was all I knew. I have yet to make my In Colour markers so I used my Blender pen to “water colour” the stamp, breathed VERY heavily on it and stamped it on the paper. I like the effect!
To finish this off, I stamped the line of dots in River Rock on the other two sides, stamped “thank you” in black and punched out with my 3/4″ circle punch and added an Artichoke button.
I’m still not sure if I should put something in the bottom right corner. For now I’m going to leave it, I think there is enough going on here.
I’m going to give this to a new friend who gave me some Starbucks coffee last week. She is so sweet.
