Butterfly Trio – Inkspirations Challenge #60

So, in follow up to yesterday’s post – YES, this is another birthday card! For this card, I started with the latest and greatest colour challenge on the Inkspirations Challenge Blog!

I love all of these colours individually but had a really hard time putting them together. I think it’s because spring hasn’t sprung yet. Once the flowers start to bloom, its easier to craft in flower-type colours. Right now I’m drawn to gray and white and gray and the occasional brown – yeah winter on the West Coast!

For this card, I decided that I’d use So Saffron for the base and add a horizontal piece of Rose Red which I stamped tone-on-tone with the littlest butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly. Next, I added a vertical layered panel in the challenge colours and added a trio of butterflies.

What I did was emboss various images from Flight of the Butterfly with white embossing powder and punched them out with the Butterfly punch. I added little embellishments to each one and then a birthday sentiment along the bottom.

What can you do with this colour combo? Head on over to Inkspirations Challenge Blog and show us your stuff!

Now, for more inspiration, check out what the other design team members came up with!
